Drum Modules
Triggers open up very particular experiments for your instrument and your music. They are very popular in electro/rock contexts, but can also become almost indispensable in Electric Jazz or Fusion situations. This does not mean that you cannot become a pioneer in these experiments even in genres where drum hybridization is still unknown.
If you are a DJ or any other musician who wants to record tracks also in Home Recording, Drum Machines are among the best instruments to create rhythmic bases. They are often compact, portable, and allow you, thanks to a great variety of settings and sounds, to create beautiful bases.
If instead you would like to mix electronic sounds with your acoustic drums, or you want to transform it for certain occasions into a true drum set with electronic sounds, then you should think about a trigger system plus a drum module. Triggers are precisely initiators and sensors that attach to the edge of drums and translate the vibrations of the skins into electrical impulses translated into sounds by a module. In this way, it is possible to hybridate sounds of the acoustic drum with those synthesized by the module (or sound module) or turn a drum set from acoustic to electric, totally or almost totally.
What is the advantage? The advantage is that you would have an electronic drum set without losing the feeling of touch of the acoustic one. Moreover, the possibility of hybridizing sounds offers very particular experimental opportunities.
